National Spring Clean

The annual Spring Clean will take place tomorrow the 28th of April, between 9:00am and 1:45pm. Some of the areas include the Patrick Doyle Road, the River Dodder, the Luas area as well as  rubbish collection from around the school grounds. The children from each class will be participating and all parents are welcome to come along and help out!. Any extra assistance would be greatly appreciated, particularly from 1:00-1:45pm along Patrick Doyle Road and the Dodder which requires a  much more extensive clean up.

Book Fair!

We are delighted to have our annual Book Fair in the school this week. The children will be looking at the books and reading a snippet of some stories and chosing books they’d like. The children can buy  books on Friday by bringing money to school. Parents are invited to have a look at our fair between 900-930am and 130-230 on Friday 24th pf April and can purchase any of the fantastic books the fair has to offer.IMG_4767 IMG_4768 IMG_4768 IMG_4767

The fifth and sixth class children are eagerly preparing for their sacrament of Confirmation which will take place on Saturday the 25th of April. The Ceremony will begin at 11 o’clock  in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, Bird Avenue. The children are enjoying this special time and school as they prepare for this momentous day in their lives. We hope that you will join with us in this joyful celebration.

Power Hour in Senior Infants

We have now commenced the “Power Hour” programme in Senior Infants. To date, it is going very well. We are enjoying the various stations in our classroom. These include a phonics station where we use magnetic letters to create words, a literacy games station, a writing station and two reading stations (one with familiar reading and one with unfamiliar reading- a new book that we bring home).
