Sports Day

Sports Day took place this year at the end of a highly active week in school.

We walked to Mulvey Park from the school and enjoyed getting out into our local surroundings.

It was great to see so many parents and grandparents supporting the boys and girls on the annual sports day.

Everyone did their best and enjoyed running in the sprint, rás ubh agus spúnóg  and the sack race as well as supporting their friends in their races.

The children really embodied the Olympic Spirit on the day, that is it’s the taking part that counts 🙂

Visit from Jack McGrath

Jack McGrath was kind enough to visit to school to help us raise our fifth green flag. We sang and danced and he signed some autographs. The flag was for Biodiversity.

We are proud to have obtained our fifth Green flag for Biodiversity. Jack McGrath kindly visited the school to help us raise it. We had a great day.

Swimming (Ms Frie)

Dear Parents / Guardians,
We are starting swimming lessons for Ms Friel’s First & Second Class from Friday 5th May.

They will take place in Energia, Nutgrove every Friday from 1 –2pm. The group will attend lessons for 4 weeks.

The cost of the lessons is €30.00 per child. Most of the cost of the bus will be subsidised by the school. The swimming lessons will cover P.E. for these four weeks; therefore the children should wear their tracksuits on
this day.

The children will be divided into graded groups – beginners and intermediate / advanced. Each group will have a qualified instructor.

Each child must have swimming costume (one piece girls), goggles, swimming hat and towel.

We are very pleased to be able to offer swimming lessons to our pupils. We hope it will be an enjoyable and beneficial activity.

Thank you

Ms Friel
