Exploring Newgrange through Art!

This month, our Sixth Class has been learning all about Newgrange, one of Ireland’s most fascinating historical sites. We discovered that it is over 5,000 years old – even older than the pyramids in Egypt! The children were amazed to learn how it was built, how the entrance is perfectly aligned with the rising sun at the Winter Solstice, and how it has been preserved for thousands of years.

To bring our history learning to life, the children created their own beautiful drawings of Newgrange. They paid close attention to the famous spiral stone carvings, the shape of the mound, and the surrounding landscape. Each piece of art shows how much they noticed and remembered about this special place.

The results are fantastic – colourful, detailed, and full of creativity! We are very proud of the children’s efforts and their enthusiasm for learning about Ireland’s past.

Take a look at some of their artwork below and enjoy seeing Newgrange through their eyes.
