National Children’s Choir

We are delighted to share with you that the pupils in 4th, 5th and 6th class will take part in the National Children’s Choir this year.

The National Children’s Choir is a nationwide project that brings children together from all over the country to perform music together. Every school learns the same programme of 15 songs over the course of the year, and comes together to perform them at a concert in the National Basketball Arena just after the Easter holidays. There are also two “cluster rehearsals” in November and February, where groups of schools come together for a full day rehearsal. This choir is for all pupils in 4th, 5th and 6th classes. The aim and ethos of the choir is to expose as many children as possible to music of different styles and genres and to give them the opportunity to perform in a real concert with a professional orchestra. It is an amazing experience for all the children who take part.

Rehearsals will take place during school time on Tuesdays and Fridays, commencing this week with Ms Judge and Ms Martin. We kindly ask that every pupil brings a ring binder to keep all their music in, as they will be receiving new photocopied music each week and will need to keep it safe.

We are very excited to embark on this project with our 4th, 5th and 6th class pupils and we hope they thoroughly enjoy the experience.
